City, Village, Exurbia: Prints and Drawings from the Collection

Exhibition Website

Mar 17 2018 - Aug 26 2018

City, Village, Exurbia features images of assorted cities, villages, and the expanses that exist beyond the suburbs. Views of densely packed communities and scenes of quaint peaceful towns complement panoramas of rolling hills and isolated dwellings, prompting conjecture about the differences that exist between life in these sundry locales. The inclusion of trees, water, and structures, along with the artists’ use of line, vantage point, medium, and tonal contrast, determine the overall mood and atmosphere of each work. A few of these landscape images no doubt will appeal to—and beckon—would be travelers.
