El Paso, TX
Historically a point of passage, the West Texas region has fostered a unique artistic community composed of artists both passing through and making the El Paso region their permanent home. Painters, printmakers, and draftsmen alike devoted themselves to capturing the unique West Texas landscape, a border region inhabited by a multicultural community. With works from EPMA’s significant collection of West Texas art, this exhibition examines the region’s landscape and culture by its most prominent mid-twentieth-century artists, including Manuel Acosta, Fremont Ellis, Ada Miller, Jose Cisneros, Audley Dean Nicols, and Vera Wise.
