Founded in 1959, the Museum houses a permanent collection of over 6,000 works of American art from the mid- 19th century to the mid 20th century with an emphasis on landscape painting, Contemporary art and photography, European paintings and sculpture from the 13th through the 18th centuries as well as works on paper by Old Master artists, and Mexican paintings and devotional works from the Spanish Viceroyal period through the 21st century.
