Mary Solberg is a Minneapolis painter whose bold, iconic figurative work is influenced by religious imagery, the great master artists, vintage postcards, and circus sideshow banners. She paints people or animals living or dead, real or imagined, to venerate them on a more personal level. Solberg’s mixed media paintings incorporate metal leaf, beeswax, acrylic, texture, gems, glitter and oil to create a portrait, which celebrates the sacredness in all of us.
