Exhibition Website

Jun 3 2017 - Sep 10 2017

Watercolor is a painting method that spans human history. Beginning with paintings on cave walls, watercolor’s great versatility allows it to be used for such diverse projects as ancient Egyptian tomb decorations, Asian silk paintings, and medieval illuminated manuscripts.

Unpredictable and challenging, watercolors provide the opportunity for a variety of artworks dependent on the desires of the artist. With wonderfully varied examples drawn from the Museum collection, this exhibition celebrates the great range of the medium.
