Maitland, FL
Recognized as an accomplished architect and noted visual artist, André Smith married his talents for the creation of the Research Studio in 1937.
Now known as A&H’s Maitland Art Center, his collection of unique architecture, sculptural reliefs and colorful murals earned the campus a National Historic Landmark designation. Today’s architects, not unlike Smith, communicate a wide range of visionary ideas in multiple mediums and forms. Architect as Artist will feature works of art created outside the realm of traditional functional design.
