2017 Great Lakes Bay En Plein Air: Juried Class

Exhibition Website

Jun 17 2017 - Sep 2 2017

Following the success of 2016’s festival, which brought over 60 artists to the region, the 2017 Great Lakes Bay En Plein Air Festival once again celebrates the art of plein air painting and the beauty of the Great Lakes Bay Region. A French expression meaning “in the open air,” plein air painting involves all five of the senses and describes a work completed entirely outdoors. Gaining popularity outside of Paris in France’s Fontainebleau Forest, this mid-19th century technique has remained esteemed into the 21st century.

Upon the completion of the 2017 Great Lakes Bay En Plein Air Festival on Saturday, June 17, this exhibition will showcase the work created by juried class artists. Enjoy the variety of media and works depicting the Great Lakes Bay Region as experienced only in Plein Air!
