Looking Back/Looking Ahead: Columbia's Sesquicentennial Time Capsule

McKissick Museum offers a glimpse into the past with artifacts from Columbia’s Sesquicentennial Time Capsule.  Placed in the court house in 1936 to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the founding of Columbia as both a city and the South Carolina state capital, the time capsule was opened in 1986.  The exhibition will include photographs, programs, souvenirs, and even the cover of the time capsule itself. Step back in time to see Columbia remembered.
