Celebrating a Shared Life in Art: Renée & George Mavigliano

Exhibition Website

Aug 22 2016 - Dec 9 2016

For more than 50 years George and Renée Mavigliano have shared a life in art. This visual continuum, working side by side at times, has provided the opportunity to share ideas. Their styles and working habits are considerably different. George is a retired SIUC professor of Art History who draws frequently in the commonplace books which he hand-binds. Renée did her MFA in fibers at SIUC and currently paints and produces paper sculpture after completing a career of teaching art at John A. Logan College. Despite their stylistic differences, art is the thread that ties together their professional and private lives.
