The American Society of Marine Artists (ASMA) was founded in 1978 by a small group of the country’s leading maritime artists whose mission is to recognize, encourage, and promote marine art and maritime history. Today, ASMA has more than 500 members across 40 states who produce semi-annual regional and national exhibitions of their work.

ASMA's 17th National Exhibition juried exhibition showcases works by more than 100 of America’s best contemporary marine artists. This special two-gallery exhibition features 112 paintings and 7 sculptures exploring a wide variety of subjects including seascapes, maritime history, harbor scenes, aquatic life, coasts, and inland waterways.
