Medicine Bough Mountain Retreat

Terrie Hancock Mangat is a textile artist known for her colorful art quilts. DIsplayed ont the Curator's Wall, the large-scale Medicine Bough Mountain Retreat, 2015. 

This colorful 27-foot, 3-part quilt shows Mangat's singular compositional technique using  color, texture and pattern to integrate abstract and representational forms. Layers of symbolism are brought forth through representations of the body, embedded scraps and zippers from her son's backpacks, and tethered mountain-climbing equipment like cams and carabiners.
