The 44-acre garden consists of 6 cultivated acres featuring 12 themed gardens where four seasons of flora and fauna thrive, as well as the state's only native butterfly house.

The BGO is currently developing an arboretum, a living collection of trees and shrubs. These trees and shrubs will form the framework and backdrop for gardens that will be added in future years as the Garden expands. The goal is to collect 800 kinds of trees and at least twice that many flowering shrubs.
