"The house that hats built" -- the 1886 Stetson Mansion -- is Florida's only Gilded Age mansion, and the largest, grandest, most innovative home built in Florida before 1900. It was the first home in Florida designed and constructed with electricity, steam heat, indoor plumbing and a call bell system.
While the Stetson Mansion is still a private residence, and thus not a museum, guided tours are offered from February into September. The mansion is closed between mid-Sept and mid-Nov while it is decorated for the holidays.
