Set in an historic building, the Emerson builds community by promoting art and culture, stimulating and celebrating the arts in all forms.
The Emerson encourages appreciation of the visual arts by curating and hosting art exhibitions of significant community value, mounting exhibitions that interpret not only regional topics, but also touch upon national and international issues.
The Emerson believes that creative self-expression enriches people's lives and the community. Casses and workshops are taught by working artists-teachers, including artists exhibiting work in the Emerson's contemporary art galleries.
