This premier historic home has served as the official residence of Texas governors and their families since 1856. It is the fourth oldest continuously occupied governors residence in the country and the oldest governors mansion west of the Mississippi River.

The Texas Governor's Mansion can only be visited on a free guided tour. Tours of the Mansion are available on a first come, first served basis. Reservations must be made at least one week in advance and no walk-up tours are available. Tours last 30 minutes and are subject to availability. All visitors must pass a background security screening. Visitors must provide their name, date of birth and government identification information at least a week in advance of their tour.
