Museum Website

A local, non-profit cultural institution, Design Museum of Chicago strives to facilitate conversations around design, believing that design is not just a single discipline or process, but rather a persistent element present in our everyday environments and experiences.

The museum mounts roughly three shows per year, each of which are open for four months. The museum is closed between exhibitions for two months as staff, volunteers, and interns design, build, and install the next exhibition. Check before visiting, to avoid disappointment.

Exhibitions are shown in two Chicago locations around the corner from each other:

  • Block Thirty Seven, 108 N State St, 3rd Floor
  • Keep Moving at Expo 72, 72 E Randolph
