Located in the 1892 Port Townsend City Hall building, the Jefferson Museum of Art & History is part of the Jefferson County Historical Society, whose mission is to actively discover, collect, preserve, and promote the heritage of Jefferson County in the State of Washington. 

JCHS operates and maintains four additional sites, including the Rothschild House Museum, and the Commanding Officer's Quarters.

The Jefferson Museum of Art & History maintains a schedule of rotating art exhibitions.
