The hand-built home and associated shops where Sam Maloof lived and worked are on the National Register of Historic Places, moved to the current site on 5 1/2 acres in the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains, in 2009.

The site now includes the historic home, which is open for docent led tours at a small fee, the Jacobs Education Center which presents changing exhibits, and the Gardens which encompass five different landscapes of California native plants and Mediterranean plants which demonstrate water wise gardening for Southern California home owners.
