Museum Website

Please note: at this time, the Dahesh is a "museum without walls"; no exhibitions take place at this address. Instead, their collection is loaned to other art museums around the country.

Check the Dahesh website for updates on their plans to renovate and move -- with exhibition space -- into the townhouse they have acquired at 178 East 64th Street.

Devoted to collecting, exhibiting, and interpreting works by Europe’s academically trained artists of the 19th and early 20th centuries, the museum places these artists in the context of 19th-century visual culture, and offers a perspective on the role academies played in reinvigorating classical ideals of beauty, humanism, and skill.
