Located in the heart of the Warehouse Arts District , the CAC organizes curated exhibitions of contemporary art by local, regional, national, and international artists.
Dedicating 10,000 sq ft of gallery space to rotating exhibitions throughout the year, the CAC is home to artistic experimentation in painting, theater, photography, performance art, dance, music, video, education, and sculpture.
A grant-making rather than a collecting orgnization, since 2006 the CAC has awarded $350,000 to individual New Orleans' artists who were affected by Hurricane Katrina.
