The Museum holds a collection of Greek and Roman antiquities that includes sculpture, decorated pottery, architectural fragments, small artifacts in terracotta and bronze, and coins, covering the period from 1500 B.C. to 300 A.D.

In the Gallery of American Art are works by Georgia O’Keefe, Kurt Vonnegut, Man Ray, Russell Chatham, Morris Graves, Marsden Hartley, Mark Tobey, John Marin, and Arthur G. Dove, among others.

More than 200 paintings by Mississippian Theora Hamblett are the core of the Museum’s folk art collection; and historic costumes, Civil War relics, dolls, fans, and decorative arts round out the Museum's holdings.
