Housed in a historic 1900 Beaux Arts building, the museum hosts scholarly presentations of historical art and artifacts and exhibitions of work by students, faculty, staff, alumni, benefactors and friends of St. Louis University. 

It brings together the University's permanent art collections with traveling exhibitions in a 55,000-square-foot building, including selections from more than 2,000 pieces of family memorabilia and fine art from the Cartier family of Cartier Jewelers. Also featured are more than 2,500 pieces of Asian art carved from wood, amber, coral, ivory, jade, enamel, and metal.
