Housed in a historic Beaux-Arts building with a contemporary addition, the permanent collection includes more than 1,000 works of African art, American art of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, more than 4500 works of Asian art from the third millennium BCE to the present, European art from the late medieval period to the present, modern and contemporary art, and middle eastern art.
