Museum Website

The Terra Foundation for American Art is dedicated to fostering  exploration, understanding, and enjoyment of the visual arts of the United States for national and international audiences. The Terra Foundation is not a museum; instead the collection is loaned for display to museums around the world.

Works from the Terra collection are generally on display at the Art Institute of Chicago.

Founded in 1989, the Terra Collection of American Art includes nearly 800 paintings, prints, drawings, photographs, and sculptures spanning the colonial period to 1945, and is focused around the cultural and artistic heritage of the United States.
