Located at the University of Minnesota, the Weisman is a teaching museum. Housed in a stainless steel and brick building designed by architect Frank Gehry,  whose design for the museum won a Progressive Architecture Design Award in 1991. 

The collection includes over 20,000 works of art with a concentration in American modernism, ceramics, Mimbres pottery, and Korean furniture. 

Several major exhibitions are offered each year.
