Beyond the classic columns and heavy door of the Bluestem Building, visitors will find more than 2,000 art objects by such artists as Renoir, Thomas Hart Benton and Frederic Remington.  

Established in 1970, the museum houses objects paintings, sculptures, prints and drawings in setting that includes antique furnishings and antique Persian rugs to create the setting of a private collector's home. 

The current artistic focus of the collection is American Art and Art of the American West, with an emphasis on Midwestern artists. In addition to the permanent collection, the museum also arranges special exhibitions of touring collections throughout the year.
