Opened in 1978, the museum houses a collection of Western art including paintings and sculpture.
Highlights of the collection include an original 5-volume set of John James Audubon’s Birds of America, paintings from the Taos Society of Artists, and New Mexican Pueblo art.
The museum building is surfaced in white marble. Its five galleries are on the first floor centered around an atrium.
