The CMA holds a varied collection of art European and American fine art, and decorative arts.

Notable in the collection are 77 pieces of Renaissance and Baroque fine and decorative art which include The Nativity, a rare fresco by Sandro Botticelli, as well as works by Canaletto, Guardi, and Bellotto,Ribera, Boucher, and Tintoretto; Monet's View of the Seine; and holdings of decorative arts that includes silver, stained glass and an array of Chinese export porcelain. 

The American art collection includes Remington's Bronco Buster sculpture; Charles Willson Peale's Portrait of George Washington; furniture by Duncan Phyfe; and Edward Hopper's Night Shadows. A growing collection of contemporary art features, among many others, Andy Warhol, Chuck Close, and Sally Mann.
