FWM is a unique contemporary art museum -- the only museum of its kind in the world -- devoted to creating work in new materials and new media in collaboration with artists from diverse artistic backgrounds—including sculpture, installation, video, painting, ceramics, and architecture.
The permanent collections number more than 5,600 objects, and trace significant movements in the field since 1977. Included are works by artists such as Louise Bourgeois, Felix Gonzalez-Torres, Ann Hamilton, Reverend Howard Finster, Anish Kapoor, Robert Kushner, Glenn Ligon, Robert Morris, Robert Venturi and Denise Scott Brown, and Carrie Mae Weems.
