FMoPA is dedicated to exhibiting important photographic art "as having central meaning to contemporary life and culture". FMoPA collects, preserves, and exhibits historic and contemporary works by nationally and internationally known photographic artists.
In January 2023 FMoPA closed its doors in the downtown space at the Rivergate Plaza’s Cube. It anticipates opening in the historic Kress Building in Ybor City in the spring of 2023.
The new space will feature more than 3,000 square feet of exhibition space, including a dedicated area for the permanent collection and rotating exhibitions. There will be a gift shop and space for lectures and artist talks.
