María Berrío: Songlines

In “María Berrío: Songlines,” the Colombian artist builds monumental scenes by layering hand-cut Japanese paper onto canvas—constructing images mostly piece by piece with rare areas of painting. 

Figures and forms emerge through this meticulous process, creating dense compositions that shift between precision and abstraction. Bringing together close to 20 works from the past decade, the exhibition traces how Berrío draws on literature, music, and global histories to create symbolic, open-ended narratives.​​
