Cut and Paste:

New Acquisitions Featuring Collage Works

Exhibition Website

Sep 2025 - Fall 2026

As an active collecting institution, TMA brings in a significant number of works on paper, including collages, drawings, prints, photography, and multimedia.

Collage, a term whose French origins mean “to glue” describes a type of visual art and the technique used to create it. The assembling of materials, such as cut paper, photographs, textiles, printed media, or found objects are attached to a supporting surface in a manner that together take on new meanings and contexts. Collage works can convey unlimited creativity, self-expression, and communication.

Featured in this exhibition are recently acquired works into the museum collection of this type of art form. Visitors are encouraged to study the materials used and think about the messages that the works may convey.
