The Whitney Biennial—a showcase of what's new in the world of American art—returns to the Whitney for its eighty-second installment in March 2026.
Introduced in 1932 by the Museum's founder, Gertrude Vanderbilt Whitney, the Biennial charts developments in art of the United States and is the longest-running exhibition of its kind. To date, more than 3,700 influential and innovative artists have participated in a Whitney biennial or annual.
