This Side of Paradise: American Artists of the Paris Salon

Exhibition Website

May 1 2018 - Oct 31 2018

Following World War I, a “Lost Generation” of American artists came of age as expatriates in Europe. Prompted by favorable currency exchange rates and a growing disbelief in the American dream, the “Americans in Paris moment” had arrived and a rising Modernist movement influenced generations of artists and writers, including Ezra Pound, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Gertrude Stein, Ernest Hemingway, and artist and OMAA founder Henry Strater.

Through a series of paintings, photographs, rare and illustrated books and archival materials, this installation traces the historic moment and dynamic union between the arts and letters.
