One object leads to many stories. In an exciting new gallery experience, one significant object or artwork from the Museum’s collection becomes the centerpiece, displayed with all the diverse stories it inspires. Visitors are able to explore its history and context, as well as seeing related objects from the collection. Beginning May 4, view Edward Moran’s 1892 painting, Henrik Hudson Entering New York Harbor, September 11, 1609, and learn about the island of Manhattan as it was in 1609 and the culture of the Lenape people who lived there.
