Mar 3 2018 - May 19 2018

Bobby’s current work explores the relationship between nature and weight of materials in the form of manufactured landscape. He states “By producing a clear and concise space, I am able to create a connection in the relationship between object and its environment that is seen every day but seldom really notice; I use this connection as a metaphor to express the importance of a miscellaneous, compact relationship that transformed the vast tracts of our landscape.”

Bobby’s work is minimal and highly polished in fabrication and delivery. He presents the view with sleek looking sculptures. I embrace our abstracted space, through the characteristics of different materials, and express the qualities of balance, weight, and texture. Both physical and conceptual element of the materials is now able to provide the viewer with a clear guide to explore and understand the mysterious world that we have made for ourselves.

I hope to enrich this relationship by not only asking the viewer to look closer to the objects, but also disassembling the work of art as it is a unprecedented opportunity to learn more about it in terms of how it was make, its subsequent history from the past, and understand we are responsible for what we see.
