Boom Arts and PICA are pleased to welcome New York’s undisputed Queen of the Underground Penny Arcade to Portland. Penny Arcade is a legendary American feminist performance artist and will be making her Rose City debut with Longing Lasts Longer, her unflinching critique of the post-gentrification landscape.
Penny Arcade’s Longing Lasts Longer has resonated with audiences in 28 global cities and counting, from Adelaide to Prague to St. Ann’s Warehouse in Brooklyn, reflecting the nearly universal trend of gentrification in the present moment. As a performance art icon and as a performer, Penny Arcade is a force of nature. She infuses her critique with magnetic rock and roll energy, razor-sharp satire, and dancing, laughing and singing all at the same time. These performances are not to be missed.
