American Abstraction

The American artists featured in this exhibition represent fine examples from a large and diverse body of the movements that have defined abstraction since 1945. Artists in these decades grappled with the making of meaning through artistic expression, the science of illusion, the power of color and shape, and the experimental possibilities of form and gesture.
