Archiving Ephemeral Beauty

Artist and Master Gardener Susan Kemenyffy is organizing an exhibit titled Archiving Transient Beauty in conjunction with the upcoming Garden Clubs of America Zone V (10 Philadelphia Clubs, 2 Pittsburgh Clubs, 1 Delaware Club) meeting in Erie this September. A long-term project of the Carrie T. Watson garden club, the Garden History & Design Committee of Erie PA to date has catalogued 15 regional gardens for the Smithsonian Institution. The exhibition will feature photographs, video, and text that preserves the stories of these extraordinary places and the people who shape and steward them. The exhibition will be on display at the Erie Art Museum from June 15 through September 12. We are seeking funding to create archival photographs of the garden images, to produce a catalog, and for exhibition supplies.
