Anne Goldthwaite as Printmaker

Exhibition Website

Feb 24 2018 - Jun 3 2018

Montgomerian Anne Goldthwaite (American, 1869–1944) is best known as a painter of Southern subjects who spent the majority of her professional career in New York. However, Goldthwaite was an even more prolific printmaker during a period when women were just beginning to establish themselves in that role in the art world. This exhibition will survey Goldthwaite’s print oeuvre (in total it exceeds 300 subjects), beginning with her student work in Paris and extending to works produced near the end of her life when she created many subjects in lithography.
