Exhibition Website

Feb 17 2018 - Aug 11 2018

Jon Lodge: Interface presents artworks that emphasize the interplay of action and material - utilizing as a starting point stochastic process (planned systems of randomness). Lodge appropriates elements from sound/music composition and print media/image reproduction to create artworks exhibiting components from these disparate sources.

Jon Lodge was born in Red Lodge, Montana in 1945. He studied at Berklee College of Music in Boston in the 1960s. Lodge’s work fuses systems and processes of music and visual art-emphasizing material and process while harnessing the nuanced effects of light and shadow to animate his work. He has had solo exhibitions at the Yellowstone Art Museum, Billings, Montana; Sun Valley Center for the Arts and Humanities, Ketchum, Idaho; Paris Gibson Square Museum, Great Falls, Montana; Nicolaysen Art Museum, Casper, Wyoming; Eyre/Moore Gallery, Seattle, Washington; Botanica Fine Art, Bozeman, Montana; Emerson Cultural Center, Bozeman, Montana and Dana Gallery, Missoula, Montana. His work is in the permanent collections of the Yellowstone Art Museum, Missoula Art Museum, Nicolaysen Art Museum and Yellowstone Public Radio. Lodge lives and works in Billings, Montana.
