Milton Rogovin: A Trip to Chile: 50 Years After

In 1967, photographer Milton Rogovin traveled to Chile to photograph and capture the story of town that Pablo Neruda, the Nobel Prize winning poet, lived. Neruda, having communicated with Rogovin about their shared concerns, invites the photographer to Isla Negra, his home in Chile. With the fiftieth anniversary of the photo-documentarian’s work, we return to see what he captured in the land that inspired the poet. This was the first time that Rogovin applies his position of, ‘the people’s photographer’ to an international project.
