Claude Bilsborough, of Titonka, IA, was awarded the Best in Show award in 2016 during the Area Show: 45 exhibition for his oil on linen piece, In the Flyway. This award granted Bilsborough a solo exhibition in the Museum’s Center Space Gallery. Claude Bilsborough: Iowa Painter opens on Friday, October 6 and will be on display through December 2, 2017.
In the exhibition Bilsborough’s artwork focuses on landscapes and portraiture. Motion is implied, especially in the landscapes. You can almost feel the wind as it blows through the corn and windmills.
