Leroy Strand Collection

Oswald Leroy Strand (1919-2016) made his way from Iowa to Geyser, Montana. He was a rancher, an honored U.S. Army veteran, art collector and a generous supporter to both the Geyser public schools and the C.M. Russell Museum. The Leroy Strand Collection exhibition at the C.M. Russell Museum consists of 376 objects with 280 sculptures and 96 paintings and drawings. Explore the exhibition and look for sculptures by local Great Falls artists Ken Mayernik and Jay Contway as well as a number of regional artists. The Leroy Strand Collection reflects his love of Montana landscapes, wildlife, rodeos and the cowboy way of life.
