This exhibition features an extraordinary group of works from the National Museum of Oriental Art (MNAO), Rome, including major paintings collected by Giuseppe Tucci during his expeditions to Tibet and now in the collection of the MNAO. The works are presented together with photography taken during eight major expeditions led by Tucci between 1926 and 1948. The MNAO paintings have only recently been restored as a group and this exhibition provides the first opportunity for scholars and the general public to see these historically important and stunningly beautiful works in the United States.
