Changarrito Project: Selections from the Collection 2016 – 2018

Changarrito Project: Selections from the Collection 2016 – 2018 will be created in conjunction with university students who are part of the museum’s internship program. The exhibition will highlight works of art acquired during the Changarrito Residencies at the Mexic-Arte Museum. The project was conceptualized by artist Maximo Gonzalez as an alternative to traditional gallery and museum spaces in Mexico. Since 2012, the curators from the Museum have selected over 51 artists to participate in the project. Artists display their artworks on the cart outside the museum or at another location in Austin. The art on display ranges from serigraphs, paintings, prints, sketches, zines, toys, and other portable works of art.
