Aug 22 2017 - Sep 30 2017

In January, Montana artist Terry Karson (1950-2017) bequeathed his artwork to benefit the Missoula Art Museum, where he presented Commons, a major installation in 2012, and the Yellowstone Art Museum, where he served as Curator in the early 1990s. MAM and YAM each selected a range of paintings, drawings, collages, sculptures, and archival materials created by Karson, as well as original works from his personal collection. This summer, MAM accessioned 23 of Karson’s artworks, 17 schematic drawings and a scale model of Commons, and one drawing each by Gennie DeWeese (1921-2007) and Ernie Pepion (1943-2005).
