The Museum of Western Art is pleased to showcase artist Roger Parsons as its Artist of the Month for August.
“The primary influence on my work is Arturo Chavez, protégé of Wilson Hurley, noted for his large scale western landscapes,” Parsons said. “My goal is to get the ‘non-art’ person to do a double-take – to stop for a longer look. If a viewer has an emotional response, or they feel like they are at the location depicted – that would be success.”
