The Vault, which also houses some of the works from our permanent collection, is dedicated to featuring and displaying works chosen by MSU students who work at the museum. Each month, one of our student gallery guides selects a piece from our collection and writes a short text explaining why they chose it and believe it should be displayed.
This work was selected by Andrea Lloyd (class of 2017), who explains: “After finding this necklace in the collection, I immediately fell in love with it. Not only is this piece aesthetically beautiful, but it is full of history and it is also extremely personal to me. Being of Ecuadorian descent myself, I am drawn to this piece because it represents a major part of my culture.
