Wildlife art has long been popular at the Norton, both as part of our permanent collection and in visiting exhibitions. In that tradition, we are delighted to offer the work of renowned naturalist/artist Don Edwards in “From Alaska to Zimbabwe: Don Edwards Paints the Wild Side” . During his 30-year career, Edwards has traveled extensively and painted subjects from the Colorado Rockies, Wyoming’s Grand Tetons, and the Alaskan tundra in America to the Masai Mara Game Reserve in Kenya and Kruger National Park in South Africa. His gifts have prompted awards from Louisiana Ducks Unlimited and the Wild Turkey Federation, as well as being named Artist of the Year for Louisiana Duck and Turkey Stamps. In addition, his dedication to preserving the Tensas hardwood bottomland and making it a national wildlife refuge led to his receiving the Governor’s Conservation Achievement Award as Conservation Communicator of the Year. Please join us for these remarkable images of life that few of us would be privileged to see in the wild.
